Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) set out the conditions for using the iOS app “Mirio” (the “App”) provided by Shinjo Sato, an individual developer (the “Operator”). By using the App, you are deemed to have agreed to these Terms.

1. Scope

These Terms apply to all relationships arising from your use of the App.

2. Description of the Service

The App provides a conversational experience through dialogue with AI characters. Users select an AI character within the App and enjoy text-based conversations. Responses are generated by external LLMs (large language models).

3. Registration

The App is intended for users aged 13 or older. Users under 13 may not use the App. Registrations made with false information may be revoked.

4. Account Management

You are responsible for managing your own account. The Operator assumes no liability for damages arising from inadequate management of credentials (including Sign in with Apple), misuse, or unauthorized use by third parties. If you discover unauthorized use, please contact the Operator immediately.

5. Rights to Content

For text and other content you enter into the App, you grant the Operator a free, non-exclusive license to use it to the extent necessary for providing and improving the service, investigating defects, and statistical analysis. Rights to AI-generated response text are governed by the terms of the applicable LLM provider.

6. Payments and Subscriptions

  • The App offers subscription plans such as Standard / Premium. Prices and details are shown in the App and on the App Store, and billing is handled in accordance with Apple's (App Store's) terms.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled. You can cancel from iPhone Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions. After cancellation, the service remains available until the end of the paid period.
  • Paid fees are non-refundable except as required by law.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You must not engage in any of the following when using the App:

  • Acts that violate laws or public order and morals
  • Acts related to criminal activity
  • Unauthorized access, reverse engineering, or placing excessive load on servers
  • Improper use of the AI (sending jailbreak prompts, inputs intended to bypass guardrails, misuse of outputs, etc.)
  • Redistributing or selling AI-generated content for commercial purposes without the Operator's prior consent
  • Sending obscene, violent, discriminatory content, or content that infringes the rights of others
  • Commercial solicitation, religious solicitation, or political canvassing
  • Providing false registration information
  • Any other act the Operator deems inappropriate

8. Disclaimer Regarding AI Responses

AI responses are generated probabilistically, and no guarantee is made as to their accuracy, currency, usefulness, or fitness for a particular purpose. Do not rely on them for medical, legal, investment, or other professional judgments; make final decisions at your own responsibility after consulting a professional.

9. Suspension and Forced Withdrawal

If you violate these Terms, or if the Operator otherwise deems it appropriate, the Operator may suspend or terminate your account without prior notice. The Operator assumes no liability for damages you incur as a result.

10. Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time from the settings screen in the App. Upon deletion, your registration information and conversation history are deleted, except for data that must be retained by law.

11. Suspension of the Service

The Operator may suspend or interrupt all or part of the service without prior notice in any of the following cases:

  • Maintenance or updates of the system
  • Force majeure such as earthquakes, lightning, fire, or power outages
  • Failures in connected external services (LLMs, etc.)
  • Any other case in which the Operator determines that providing the service is difficult

12. Disclaimer

The Operator assumes no liability for any damages you incur arising from the App, except in cases of the Operator's willful misconduct or gross negligence. The same applies to effects caused by failures or specification changes of connected external services (Dify, Google, Apple, RevenueCat, etc.).

13. Changes to the Terms

The Operator may change these Terms without prior notice when deemed necessary. The revised Terms take effect when displayed in the App or on this page.

14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any dispute concerning the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the court having jurisdiction over the Operator's location.
